Ridge Creek School (RCS), located on a 215-acre campus one hour north of Atlanta, is a Therapeutic Boarding School with a Wilderness twist. All week long we help young people make significant gains in emotional maturity and academic achievement by placing an equal emphasis on the college-preparatory academic curriculum and students’ therapeutic work. The School's state-certified teachers (including the area of special education), Master's-level counselors, and wilderness/recreation staff members cooperate to help students develop all aspects of their lives: physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual. The small class sizes usually less than 7:1 student to teacher ratio ensures individual attention and a return to academic success. Every weekend all students depart campus together for the Wilderness component of our curriculum. Students’ engage in hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, obstacle course mastery and other outdoor activities to build cohesion, confidence and self-esteem. We are a low cost option to the traditional Therapeutic Boarding School.
